Diverse-Gender Sexology

Dave Wells works from the view that, gender is determined by the way a person identifies it to be.  In our society, many view gender by a person’s genitalia (Penis = Male and Vagina = Female).  We have learnt that the gender brain controls how we feel about our gender identity, regardless of how in-line it is with our genitals or sexual attractions.  Dave Wells views a person’s gender, regardless of genitalia, by the Gender that a person identifies with.  It is important to remember that, although institutions in our society have perpetrated the belief that any gender outside of Male and Female is ‘Gay’, in reality it is simply a diversity of human gender.  The terms, ‘Gay’ or ‘Sexual Orientation’ relates to the type of person/s that we are attracted to sexually and/or romantically.  Any form of gender (Diverse Gendered, male and female) is totally separate to the Gender of the person/s who sexually turns you on. When focusing on sexual health, Gender-Diverse people experience different Sociological and Biological pressures then men and women do with their sexual health conditions.

Dave prides himself on his strength of respecting all diversities of people and gaining a holistic view of any person as an individual to develop an understanding of what life looks like for the person, and the areas of support required. Dave Wells respects that people often have a preferred gender of medical professional/s.

In working from a Client-centered approach as well as best practice, Dave Wells can offer referral to specialists best suited to address conditions that are Psychical in nature, meanwhile accessing Sexology for psychological support to empower the person to navigate through their personal journey.
