Accessing therapy and support to address difficulties has been misconceived by many in the past as a weakness, when actually it displays a person who has strength.  The strength to acknowledge that some things are out of their control or abilities to address them to meet the outcomes that they are seeking.  The strength to reach out for help when there is conflict in the family, is putting the well-being of the family first by employing an appropriately skilled person to provide guidance and support.

There can be particular attributes that are important before the person coming to therapy can build a rapport based on the safety of; trust, confidentiality, respect, honesty, familiarity, and neutrality.  Whilst not every therapist’s personality and working style is suitable for everyone, Dave Wells is successful with appealing to people who find therapy difficult, and therefore also appeals to a a greater cross-section of people who are comfortable.

Family dynamics:

The dynamics of families and family members are naturally diverse, with their values and influences coming down through generations. Experiencing conflict in personal relationships is therefore normal, however, sometimes relationship problems can become overwhelming, and professional support for those experiencing difficulties may be necessary to help set goals, mature, and establish harmony.

Unhealthy dynamics do not need to continue; they can be changed. Changing a negative pattern that is causing stress begins with one person and can bring immediate and long-term relief.
